Connected

am linking up for Five Minute Friday.  The FMF is hosted by Kate Motaung on her blog Heading Home. Today's prompt is "connect". It was so good to see this crew and get back into the groove of FMF. I've missed these peeps, Tonight we talked all things; wine and chocolate, one words and snow, skiing and cold. We'd love to have you join us.  Just hop onto Twitter on Thursday evenings and follow the #fmfparty. Hope to see you there!

My hands clasped
Around my cuP
And warmed up
By the sheer warmth
Of it
As we listen and chat
Over a hot cup
On this cold winter day.

Our hearts connected
In just a few moments
Over life and love and faith.

My fingers tap
Across the keyboard
On Twitter
Connected
Across computer and phone screens.

So many question
These connections
But they are sincere and true
True in every sense of the word.

Connections made
From east to west
North to south
Across faith lines
And connected
As family of God.

Like a puzzle
Snapped into place
Piece by piece
God pieces our lives
And connects us together
With beloved brothers and sisters
In Christ.

And as each piece
Finds its proper place
In the puzzle
A beautiful masterpiece
Unfolds before our very eyes.

A masterpiece
Connected
Through the love
And grace of God;
Connected when we move
The table to where
All are welcomed and connected
At the holy altar;
Connected in water, bread, wine
And the Word

Connected
To reveal
A beautiful elegant masterpiece
Of Gods people

  6. We ARE "connected" in water, bread, wine
And the Word! I love your post/poem. I thought about a poem in the early AM as I laid pondering and praying about a post for connection. Our minds are are a similar page. You alluded to puzzle pieces connecting, and I chose the dot to dot page of God's glorious activity book unfolding! Love you from the warm south to chilly north!

    1. Barbie, I understand that. I totally struggled with that at first too, but I found when I started asking questions that helped me feel more a part. Maybe that helps (or not). Either way, I'm glad you're a part of our tribe!

    2. Tara, I found myself in a small group a few months ago discounting my own online friendships. God totally convicted me that was not the case. These are some of my richest because we actually take time to listen and think before we respond. What a thought! We'll sit at the same table someday soon I hope!

  20. Tara, a beautiful post. Yes, "legitimate" connections are made online. And I am thankful for the people I've met in various venues. It's amazing how we can truly connect with people we've never actually seen, isn't it? I'm grateful God made us with a capacity, a need, for connection.

thank you. I enjoyed the journey you took me on from line to line, like a courtly dance with each player expertly stepping to the music! And, thank you for genuinely caring. You are a gem!

We all need to write a lot more poetry... thanks for visiting my FMF last week; it's almost time for another! Peace and hope and hugs from rainy southern California
